What you are buying
Comb honey is honey the way the bees stored it: sealed in hexagonal beeswax cells, capped over with fresh wax. Ours is cut from wildflower frames at our hives in Northern California, and only fully capped comb makes the cut. Each piece is cut when you order it rather than pulled from storage, and it is never frozen. Family beekeepers since 1892.

Which size to buy
The 12 oz Frame is the lowest price per ounce at $4.17. The 4 oz Square is the one to try first, or to put on a single cheese board. Honeycomb supply depends on what the hives produce each season, so if you need a larger quantity for an event or a shop, ask us first.
Why comb costs more than bottled honey
When honey is extracted, the empty wax comb goes back to the hive to be refilled. When it is sold as comb, the wax goes with it and the bees have to build new comb from scratch, which costs the colony honey. Comb also has to be fully capped and cut by hand. How to eat honeycomb
Straight from the comb
Cut a square and bite in. The wax releases the honey and then softens to something like chewing gum. Swallow it or discard it — beeswax is edible either way.
On a cheese board
A block of comb next to aged cheddar, figs and nuts is the classic serve. The wax holds the honey in place, so it does not run across the board.
On toast, yogurt or in tea
Spread a piece on warm toast, set one on Greek yogurt, or drop a chunk into hot tea and let the wax float free.

How much does honeycomb cost?
Our honeycomb currently costs $25.00 for the 4 oz Square, $40.00 for the 8 oz Round, $50.00 for the 12 oz Frame. That works out to $4.17 per ounce for the 12 oz Frame and $6.25 per ounce for the 4 oz Square. Shipping is a flat $4.90, free over $50.
Why does honeycomb cost more than bottled honey?
A frame sold as comb is sold whole, wax and all, so the bees have to build new wax from scratch to replace it — and making wax costs a colony honey. Comb also has to be fully capped and cut by hand. Extracted honey leaves the wax behind for the bees to reuse, which is why it costs less per ounce.
How long does honeycomb take to arrive?
Honeycomb is cut to order, so allow 2–3 business days for preparation before it ships, plus transit time. If you need comb for a specific date, order early.
Can you eat the wax in honeycomb?
Yes. Beeswax is edible. Most people chew the comb until the honey is gone and then either swallow the softened wax or discard it.

Yes. It is cut from the frame and packed as it is. The honey is never extracted, heated or filtered, and the comb is never frozen or stored long-term.
How should I store honeycomb?
At room temperature in a cool, dry place with the container closed. Do not refrigerate it — cold makes the honey crystallize faster and hardens the wax. Stored that way it keeps for months. Raw honey crystallizes over time. That is normal and reversible — stand the jar in warm (not boiling) water until it clears.
Can children eat honeycomb?
Do not feed honey to infants under 12 months. Honey can contain Clostridium botulinum spores that an infant gut cannot yet handle.
